2011 Academic Bowl
Donning 1970s athletic apparel, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Gold team successfully defended their championship title in the final round of the 2011 ASU Academic Bowl. The team took home $24,000 in scholarship money and added a fifth consecutive championship win to their college's already impressive record.
The three other teams that advanced to the semi-final round of the 2011 Academic Bowl were the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Maroon team, the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering Gold team and a team from the W. P. Carey School of Business.
For the third consecutive year, both teams from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences went head-to-head in the final championship round in what has become a "Federer-Nadal-esque" matchup beginning in 2009.
